The classic Bergen fjord run

This is the trip that started it all. We leave the Bergen waterfront and open up the throttle north across the city fjord, ducking under the mighty Nordhordland bridge and into the quiet, steep-sided Osterfjord. The scenery gets bigger with every minute - sheer rock walls, hanging forests, and waterfalls that spill straight into the sea.

At the head of the fjord we reach Mostraumen, a narrow strait where the tide forces the sea through a gap only a few metres wide, creating a swirling saltwater current. We nose the RIB right up to the waterfalls so you can feel the spray, then turn for a fast, exhilarating run back to the city.

• Waterfalls close enough to feel the mist
• The churning Mostraumen tidal current
• Seals and seabirds, if the day is kind to us

What's included

• A warm, full-body flotation suit
• Inflatable life jacket, goggles and gloves
• An experienced local skipper and guide
• Roughly 2.5 hours on the water

Good to know

• Minimum age 8 years; guests under 18 must be with an adult
• Not suitable for pregnant guests or anyone with back or heart conditions
• Dress warmly in layers with closed shoes - it's cooler on the fjord
• Please arrive 20 minutes before departure to gear up
